Design is not art
Usual debate, whether the design is art? Most people mix creativity and aesthetics, as elements of design with art. Creativity is ability of an individual or a group to solve a “problem” or “task”, and the aesthetics is the “science” of beauty and visual harmony, and most people have an innate disposition towards it. Design needs both the creativity and sense of aesthetics, but art doesn’t, art is a state of mind.
Graphic design is a profession that has the task to in best way visually represent the essence and spirit of the brand, and so communicate with the target audience.
What’s behind great design?
Many people believe that great design depends only on the knowledge and skills of a designer, it is of course necessary, but far from sufficient. Best designs arise from a comprehensive market research and analysis. Analysis of competition and knowledge, understanding of the target audience is essential.
Design can not be great, if it is not market-oriented, if does not present the values of your brand, and of course if it can not sell.
Understanding and knowledge of the entire market situation is the essence of branding, regarding that we can conclude that branding is essential for success in today’s market.
